Alt Summit 2019

Last week I traveled to the beautiful and sunny Palm Springs so I could participate (and to celebrate the 10 year anniversary!) in this year’s Altitude Summit (Alt Summit). Creative business owners from across the country gather every year to take classes, hear speakers and create! This year there were 2,000+ attendees with speakers that included Joanna Gaines (@joannagaines), Cortney and Robert Novogratz (@thenovogratz), Danielle Lucia Schaffer (@citygirlgonemom), Susan Peterson (@freshlypicked) Joy Cho (@ohjoy) and...myself!

Erin Condren Meet & Greet Recap

Today I am excited to share with you all the details from the amazing meet and greet I had with Erin Condren last Saturday! As some of you may know, Erin is the designer behind the ultimate planner, the LifePlanner. As an organizer you guys know I love my planner and her planners make keeping track of everything I have to stay on top of so easy. When Erin and I met, we instantly connected over our shared love for all things organization and the fact that we are both twin moms! I had the best time at this event and even got a chance to interview Erin. Below are some videos of our interview as well as some exclusive pictures from the event. Finally, don’t forget to check out some of my favorite Erin Condren products that I use linked in this post!

Your Home, Organized: Pottery Barn Recap

Like many of you, I wear many of hats throughout a day. Between being a mom, running a full-time business and managing my team, plus keeping my house and personal well-being in check it feels like there never is enough time. We are always searching for time to add to our day. Clients always tell me that if they had more time they could do XYZ and I get it. I know that I can’t change how many hours are in a day but I can change what I do in the environment where I spend my days. There are things that I can do throughout the day and week that can get me--and you, too--more in control so that when the kids get home and I lay my head down on the pillow, my mind isn’t full of any clutter due to the physical clutter around me.

How Organization Can Help to Reduce Stress

One of the reasons I love my job is that it ensures that no two days look the same. While most of my days are full of client walkthroughs and overseeing organizing projects and designs, some days I’m out of town for work and other days I’m flexing my expert skills in front of an audience. Last week I had the honor of joining Responsibilty.org at the #TalkEarly Summit in DC. I was brought on as the organizing expert to discuss how organization can help to reduce stress, and this topic is something that I couldn’t wait to share on the blog because I know that so many of us are in the same boat.

Fridge Organization Tips: Our Washington Post Facebook Live segment

We chatted with The Washington Post on their Facebook Live yesterday to discuss how to organize a fridge, our favorite products to use, and general tips for how to keep up the systems once they are in place to prevent food waste in the future. Some of the tips that we mentioned are keeping similar products together, using clear containers and checking out-of-sight places regularly. These small actions will make a world of a difference when it comes to grabbing a quick snack for breakfast or making dinner for the whole family.

Kit and Ace Workshop Recap + How To Create a Better Travel Experience

Packing is not a fun task, but--similar to organizing--when you create a system to help get the job done you are not only going to cut down on the time it takes to get ready for a trip, but you’ll also spare yourself the stress, second-guessing, and overstuffing that is commonly associated with it.  Creating a packing list, planning outfits in advance, and preparing for just-in-case moments will make your travel experience go a lot smoother.
