VICE PRESIDENT OF OPERATIONS

We're searching for a Vice President of Operations who has strong leadership skills and the ability to approach business with a creative point of view. This is a new position for Rachel and Company and one that will be part of the description of what is below and part of what you make of it. We have been growing steadily over the last several years and know we need to add in another team member to help us shape the future of the business. This position will help to organize and oversee the daily operations of our company and report to Rachel directly. You will be the one to ensure that our business is well-coordinated, organized and productive by managing its procedures, clients, vendors and team members.

EXTRA CREDIT


Experience in a management role, preferably in a retail or customer-facing setting.

  • Manage client projects from initial inquiry phase through proposal review, product sourcing, client/vendor communication and oversight, and completion of project
  • Plan and monitor the day-to-day running of business to ensure smooth progress
  • Communicate with potential clients, clients, team members and other vendors
  • Manage team members and related issues
  • Execute other duties related to the daily administration of the client projects including client, team and vendor scheduling
  • Partner with Rachel to seek out new business opportunities for growth and business building
  • Product sourcing for clients
  • Review client proposals and project schedules to ensure that they are achievable with the existing/available resources

DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

As we continue to expand our presence in the DC market, we are seeking a proactive, creative, and results-driven Director of Business Development to join our team. The Director of Business Development will manage all non-organizing firm initiatives and report to Rachel directly. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Digital Course Development and Promotion:
  • Partner with Leadership on marketing strategy for existing The Power of Press Playbook digital course
  • Assist in the development and execution of new digital courses
  • Plan and execute press outreach to promote existing and new course offerings

Influencer, Brand and Partnership Management:
  • Develop and nurture existing relationships with influencers and key industry partners
  • Proactively reach out to leading brands to explore and establish new partnerships
  • Plan and execute collaboration strategies to enhance brand visibility
  • Monitor and analyze the performance of partnerships

Content and Social Media Marketing:
  • Devise innovative digital and social media campaigns to drive brand awareness and engagement
  • Work closely with firm Leadership to align digital campaigns with overall marketing strategies and business goals
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of digital campaigns

Event and Speaking Engagement Coordination:
  • Identify opportunities for speaking engagements, sponsorships, and partnerships
  • Coordinate and participate in relevant industry events to promote our brand
  • Collaborate with firm Leadership and external partners to ensure successful event execution

Firm Operations, Growth and Expansion:
  • Manage day-to-day operations of all non-organizing firm initiatives
  • Identify opportunities for increased profitability, as well as new products and service offerings
  • Partner with Leadership on all related outreach

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field
  • Proven experience in business development, partnership management, or a related role
  • Passion for organizing and design
  • Exceptional project management skills, with superior attention to detail
  • Results-oriented strategic thinking, with a particular interest in and understanding of brand partnerships, content and digital marketing, and/or event planning and production
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Flexibility and adaptability when project plans and team directions change
  • Problem-solving confidence, especially under pressure

WHAT’S REQUIRED



  • Consistent weekday availability during typical business hours
  • Willingness to travel occasionally within the DC area for meetings and events
  • Familiarity with CRMs is a plus

PART-TIME WITH POTENTIAL FOR FULL-TIME

Project Lead & Onsite Organizer 

As we continue to expand our presence in the DC market, we are seeking a motivated, energetic, and hands-on Project Lead & Onsite Organizer to join our team. The Project Lead & Onsite Organizer will be responsible for leading all aspects of Rachel & Company client projects (professional home organizing, home moves, and closet design).

RESPONSIBILITIES

Client and Project Management:
  • Lead client projects, from initial walkthrough to decluttering, moving, and/or organization
  • Confidence in all aspects of client communication (in-person and via email)
  • Collaboration with clients on project design, taking into account any client style and/or product preferences as well as the Rachel & Company aesthetic
  • Planning and sourcing of organization products and supplies needed for client projects
  • Ongoing management of project details for several client projects happening simultaneously

Onsite Operations:
  • Serve as the primary client contact for Rachel & Company while onsite in client homes / at project locations
  • Execute agreed-upon project plans, making Leadership aware of any needed adjustments
  • Execute other administrative and scheduling duties related to the execution of client projects

Onsite Management of Rachel & Company Team:
  • Ensure Rachel & Company team members are coordinated on all project plans and logistics while onsite
  • Problem solve in real-time as needed, keeping team members abreast of changes and keeping team members working effectively and efficiently 

Collaboration with Firm Leadership & Partners:
  • Coordinate with Leadership and outside partners/vendors to ensure all project-related logistics are documented internally and communicated to clients
  • Provide project-related content (photos, videos) to be shared on social media
  • Continuously find ways to improve firm processes, collaboration, and profitability

  • Appreciation that no task is above or below any member of the team
  • Understanding that you will get sweaty and dirty in service of a beautiful and organized final result
  • Consistent professionalism in appearance and conduct, regardless of project logistics and environment
  • Solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to independently problem-solve in real time
  • Flexibility and adaptability, especially when project plans and team directions change
  • Working knowledge of Google Suite 

WHAT’S REQUIRED



  • Consistent weekday availability during typical business hours
  • Ability to travel to client homes and project locations within the DC area (Monday - Thursday)
  • Ability to work on your feet for several hours per day, several days per week
  • Valid driver’s license and car with auto insurance
